How to Make an At-Home MaskMaking an at-home mask is pretty simple and there are so many different ingredients you can use. Let's start with an oatmeal and honey face mask. Honey is great for clearing skin impurities due to its antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. Oatmeal helps soothe skin and protect it from irritants. To make an oatmeal and honey at-home mask, combine 1/4 cup of oatmeal, 1/4 cup of water, and 2 teaspoons of honey. You can use the oatmeal in its whole form or create a finer consistency, by placing it in a coffee grinder or blender. Another option is to use cooked oatmeal. Apply the mask to your skin and allow it to remain for ten to fifteen minutes. Wash your face with warm water and pat your skin dry. You will notice how smooth and soft your skin feels afterward. You can alternate the recipe by using 2 tablespoons of plain yogurt with 2 tablespoons of honey. Yogurt also has antibacterial qualities and lactic acid to prevent aging. Another twist to this recipe would be to use an avocado instead of yogurt, with 2 tablespoons of honey. Avocados are fabulous for moisturizing your skin! Here's a reliable, ready-made, avocado at-home mask: More Ways to Make an At-Home MaskIf you would like an at-home mask to impart deep moisture into your skin, try using olive oil. Honey is always a great staple in a mask, so for this mask, we'll be using honey again. Simply mix together 1/3 teaspoon of olive oil and 1 teaspoon of honey. Olive oil is so thick and rich; you don't need much to moisturize your skin. It's preferable to use extra virgin olive oil, for added richness, but feel free to use whatever type you like. Leave the mask on for fifteen to twenty minutes, rinse off with warm water, and pat your face dry. You'll feel a remarkable difference in your skin's moisture level. Also try combining 1 tablespoon of olive oil with half of a mashed avocado for super moisture! This can be left on your skin for fifteen to twenty minutes as well. Another great at-home mask for moisturizing your skin is made with half of a banana. Bananas have antibacterial attributes, do a great job of softening skin, and reduce skin inflammation. You can use half of a mashed banana alone, or add two tablespoons of honey. A variation of the recipe is half of a banana, 1 tablespoon of oatmeal, and 1 teaspoon of honey. You may want to add 1 tablespoon of plain yogurt. Allow the mixture to stay on your skin for fifteen to twenty minutes, rinse, and pat dry. This scrumptious pre-made mask has the best of both worlds- bananas and avocados: For oily skin, lemon juice works wonders. Similar to honey, yogurt, and bananas; lemon juice has antiseptic properties. It's also excellent for soaking up oil. Make an at-home mask by blending 1/2 teaspoon of lemon juice, 1 teaspoon of honey, and 1 teaspoon of apple cider vinegar. Apple cider vinegar is helpful for clearing skin, reducing oil, and is antibacterial too. After applying, leave on your skin for five minutes. Wash your face with warm water and pat dry. Experiment with Your Own At-Home Mask RecipesWhen it comes to creating an at-home mask, there's a lot of freedom involved. Feel free to tweak the recipes I've mentioned and tailor them to your preferences. You can add more or less of the moisturizing, oil-reducing, and soothing ingredients; depending on what your skin needs. Enjoy pampering yourself and admiring your soft, glowing, beautiful skin.
