Creative Content Plus Paid Ads in a Competitive Landscape
Most businesses these days are realizing the potential in digital sales, but may still be hesitant to invest in paid ads. Using some form of content marketing in your selling strategies will keep you competitive in the current landscape. However, integrating paid ads to enhance the possibility of having your content seen is also vital.
There are plenty of creative options available to develop engaging content to capture the attention of consumers. You could create optimized blogs, social media posts, videos, etc. But if you are not investing in driving paid traffic to this content, you may be waiting a long time to see any results. So many businesses have now been online for years. When entering this digital marketing arena, be prepared to pay your dues. For instance, if you set up a blog tomorrow, it will take time to begin seeing rankings in Google. Combine Paid Ads and Content Marketing for Optimal Results
A variety of factors come into play when attempting to compete with and outrank sites with years of domain authority. Even with that well-earned authority, it still takes some time for blog posts to crawl up the search rankings. And bear in mind the importance of quality content. The algorithms are fickle and ultimately unpredictable, even to the most experienced SEO.
Plus, consider the investment cost of hiring an SEO or just winging it yourself. Sure, you could eventually get the hang of it yourself with the use of various free or paid SEO tools. But there is always a learning curve, time, and effort involved. Any way you look at it, you are going to end up investing in something. Even hiring content creators, writers, and influencers is an investment. It makes sense to get the most exposure for your expenditure and to execute everything correctly the first time. The ideal option, especially for new businesses attempting to sell online, is to simultaneously build your content marketing strategies and amplify them using paid ads. These could take various forms e.g. PPC, banner, social media ads. Use Paid Ads to Amplify Your Reach and Hit Targets in Less Time
If you want to stand a chance against the endless algorithms at play in the search engines and countless social media platforms, paid ads can help. Since so many businesses are now advertising online, the varying platforms offering these ads are well aware of how lucrative it can be to enhance competition.
The reality is that it has become increasingly difficult to compete as a free participant. Even on social media, the days of free engagement are pretty much passé. If you want to be seen in the feeds, gain followers, and get clicks, you need to pay to play. Using paid ads will help you reach your sales goals in a fraction of the time. They will automate your process so you can spend less time hands-on, while your ads are running independently. Just set them up and carry on with other tasks. Setting up most ads is pretty clear-cut with the help of instructional materials available on the particular platform. However, if you want to further streamline the use of your time, you can always invest in hiring an ads manager.
Creative content and diverse content marketing strategies are profitable ways to build your business, but it can be frustrating when all of that hard work goes unseen. Sometimes there is just a small missing link, such as paid advertising, that can help tie all of the pieces together and bring you results.
Through my many years of trial and error online, I can relate to your frustrations and have gained plenty of experience in this, as well as other areas. The Importance of Strategizing Toward a Greater Marketing Funnel
When considering your strategy online, take into account the importance of intertwining your efforts into a greater marketing funnel. Each element in your digital marketing repertoire of techniques would be best suited if they worked interconnectedly. They all play an important role, such as organic search traffic, social media ads, etc.
However, planning ahead so they play off each other, so to speak, will enhance the effectiveness of each strategy. Aim for a larger marketing funnel umbrella and tie the smaller elements into achieving that ultimate goal. Keep your brainstorming a few steps ahead while still maintaining focus on the task at hand. This can take a while to get used to juggling, but it will be worth sharpening this skill. An Interactive Marketing Funnel in the Larger Scope
Think about your digital efforts as a part of an all-encompassing and highly interactive marketing funnel. Work your way down from that larger concept and plan each detailed content or marketing strategy, always bearing this in mind. For example, when planning your blog content, create an overall strategy and outline for a specific blog post. However, ensure the key elements within that content correlate with your greater marketing funnel.
If your marketing funnel integrates SEO as a means of driving traffic, think about the user experience when they are led to your site via an organic Google search and land on one of your optimized blog posts. Consider the other related components that maximize the effectiveness of that one search click, such as an opt-in form on your site that captures their email and retains them as a subscriber you can further communicate with.
Reflect on how this plays into your email marketing strategies and gaining them as a customer of perhaps your own products on your site or affiliate products. Also, evaluate the amplification of your marketing funnel by strategically placed affiliate links on your site or in your content that they will come across while reading your blog post.
Tie Digital Content into an Overall Marketing Funnel Plan
Link your large-scale marketing funnel into other areas beyond your site that ultimately lead back to your site. When you are creating social media copy and ads, attain the most efficiency out of those methods too, by considering the user experience there as well and how they travel to your site during the whole process. Remember the additional benefits of available tracking features and analytics tools for gathering audience data and honing down your target audience. Familiarize yourself with your site’s audience, as well as elsewhere so you can continue maximizing your funnel.
Your efforts on social media all tie back to your site through a variety of means e.g. posts to increase your online presence and help with branding, paid ads, influencer marketing campaigns, etc. As do paid search engine ads in conjunction to free organic search traffic.
Backlinks also contribute highly to your overall marketing funnel, whether on social media or other sites. Perhaps through published work, such as articles and author bylines, or other types of features and mentions of your site or brand. These backlinks directly drive traffic to your site but also complement your SEO endeavors in general, by strengthening the rankings of your own site's content already in the search engines.
Creating an orderly, well-functioning marketing funnel that is optimized to its greatest efficiency will free you from more laborious processes. Once set up, it can work for itself as a somewhat automated system, allowing you more freedom from hands-on tasks.
Of course, there is always work involved with initial setup. But rather than trying to acquire sales, traffic, and eyes on your business by going after individualized attention, it makes more sense to do so through a smooth-running marketing funnel. Each component perpetuates the other elements in the system.
