Valuing Professionalism When Providing My Copywriting Services I have been providing copywriting services for a while now, and although I am not completely new to the industry, I find there is still much to be discovered, as it is a continual learning process. There is no better way to hone your skills as a copywriter than to dive right in and start dealing with clients. In the beginning, and even now, I am often shocked at some of the cutthroat and unscrupulous ways in which some clients conduct themselves. I find that over time, I have developed a numbness in order to effectively continue running my copywriting services business without allowing such ridiculous clients to phase me. I continue to develop a thick skin and in a sense, expect the worst so when a job with a client goes smoothly, I am pleasantly surprised. I think to survive in this industry, it is important not to get too comfortable. I feel it is advisable to keep a steady demeanor without getting too excited over copywriting successes. That way you avoid a drastic fluctuation in emotions when clients behave unprofessionally. Eliminating Clients Who are Not Serious about Professional Copywriting Services There is so much tire kicking and cheapskatedness in copywriting; it is unbelievable. To run a profitable copywriting services business, you need to hold firm to your rates. I find it laughable that potential clients think I am unintelligent enough to fall for their bait and switch tactics, during which they seemingly propose paid work which later entails the stipulation of an unpaid test. Do they work for free? Of course not, so why would they expect me to? During that same time, I could be doing copywriting work for a client that respects me enough to pay me. Conducting appropriate research to inform myself of a business's products and services, current developments in their sector, gathering relevant sources, and writing engaging content takes time and effort. This should be taken into account when attempting to contract professional copywriting services. Learning the difference between high-quality writing and penny-a-word rubbish you can find anywhere is key. Top tier copywriters charge higher rates because we provide more value. You can choose to pay that or suffer SEO-wise with spammy, low-grade content that does not adequately rank in the search engines, drive traffic, or convert potential customers into sales. Continual Growth to Strengthen My Copywriting Services Business I find it worthwhile to draw lessons from every copywriting experience. The unprofessional clients continue to teach me how to identify and weed out situations that are a waste of my time. Providing copywriting services to high-level clients of a certain mentality motivates me to sharpen my skills and advance to higher goals. Seeing the potential for progress and greater opportunities through these interactions creates hope and fuels my desire to uncover more beneficial relationships.
I approach this copywriting experience on a day-by-day basis. Operating a copywriting services business lends limited predictability. It is not possible to foresee how many projects will come your way, when you will see these opportunities, or if a hopeful endeavor will just turn out to be some swindler playing games. Regardless, the upside and financial potential make it deserving of my effort. So I will persist in expanding my copywriting services to benefit additional clients in diverse sectors and growing through research in these new areas.
