Freelance Writing has been an intriguing means of earning income and motivation for expanding my intellectual capabilities. I appreciate the higher tier area of the industry that continually provokes growth in my linguistic and business skills. I am fortunate to have access to premium clients whose insistence on the utmost level of standards aligns with my desire to maintain those same measures in my work.

I have also been privy to a more exploitative side of freelance writing which I feel should be phased out eventually. I am hoping that as more quality writers take a stand for what is ethical, these types of clients will have less power to engage in what is basically slave labor. I have also witnessed these sort of businesses in other fields in which I have done freelance work, such as the technology industry.

It is unfortunate that a brainwashing occurs, leaving many freelancers believing they need to accept this substandard treatment and pay. I hope freelance writers and other types of independent contractors will explore the entirety of a field, rather than accepting that their current experience is how their services will be valued and compensated elsewhere. Once you have seen the full range of possibilities, your outlook and hopefulness are greatly enhanced. The key is to remain persistent and have faith even when you have no tangible results.

I have undergone that same shift in my freelance writing career, in regard to having faith. I have seen the success of other writers and I am cognizant of how much money can be made writing. I am aware of both the lowest and highest freelance writing rates being offered currently per word and for various content formats. I also have a realistic perspective and take into consideration, a writer’s experience, educational level, and other pertinent criteria. However, I also know my worth and will not be convinced I need to work in servitude. Especially considering I live in the United States and must accommodate a high cost of living.

There are plenty of practices that take place in other arenas besides freelance writing that are immoral. Whether you accept them by convincing yourself they are not occurring is your choice. I feel it is best to face the harsh realities sooner than later and begin making provisions for alternative client dealings. Less time is wasted functioning in this manner and you will be closer to attaining your ultimate freelance writing career.

​As freelance writers, particularly as ghostwriters, we are required to follow certain style guides and create content according to the stipulations of the client. I have no problem with that, considering I am being paid for work. The money is certainly appreciated. However, the issues transpire when new clients ask for writing samples and you are unable to reveal the pieces you have written for other companies due to non-disclosure agreements. It is ironic that so many buyers are stringent about reviewing writing samples before paying for writing services but they are reluctant to provide credit in the form of a byline.

I find it important to work on your own projects simultaneously so you can recall the freedom associated with the creative expression inherent in writing. It is also encouraging to have your name associated with the content you have written and the ability to use these works as samples. Setting up your own site or acquiring a freelance writing portfolio hosted elsewhere to display these is advisable.

I am looking forward to more opportunities to express my thoughts and add creative input. I am optimistic increasing respect will be shown for freelance writers and the revenue we generate for businesses. Hopefully, there will be a substantial merge in recognition for the contribution of writers via bylines and payment to develop sales maximizing material. Nonetheless, I value the clients who have treated me fairly, provided reasonable compensation, and conducted themselves professionally. I will continue to welcome this caliber of writing assignments. ​For many people, working from home is the ultimate dream. Yes, it’s definitely got its dreamlike components; but there’s another side to it that entails a lot of hard work and discipline. How awesome to wake up whenever you want, live according to your own schedule, be your own boss! However, all of that can get completely out of control, if you don’t add discipline and some sort of routine into the mix. You can’t for instance, just wake up whenever you want, if that means sleeping for so many hours that you don’t put in enough hours of actual work.

There’s freedom in the sense of doing things the way you like, creating your own schedule; but many don’t realize the added pressures and responsibilities involved with being your own boss. Once you make that shift, everything rests on your shoulders. You’re the leader now. You can’t just sit waiting for someone to tell you what to do. Many people complain about someone bossing them around and hovering over them. However, once you realize that safety net is completely gone, it can take a bit of mental adjustment, a certain mind shift to cope with the realization. You now look around and realize, you just stepped into a whole new world!

Working from home can be like a strange new planet, a really cool one, but a foreign realm most people don’t quite understand. You may find it harder to relate to people outside of the working from home lifestyle. They may not truly understand what you go through on a daily basis and how hard it can be sometimes to manage the ability to continue living the lifestyle. To me, working from home is a blessing. I feel lucky I get to enjoy many attributes associated with it; but I also know I work hard to cultivate and hold on to any opportunities I get. I certainly won’t allow anyone to drag me down or try to convince me to neglect my responsibilities.

When you’re working from home, I think it’s best to try to create some sort of routine. However, there are times you may find yourself working while others who have a traditional employment schedule are enjoying free time. They may not understand why you’re working from home on a weekend or holiday. As self-employed individuals, we have many perks, such as being in charge of our own schedules. However, we also have the responsibility of taking care of things an employer would usually take care of. For instance, ensuring we pay appropriate taxes on our income; and making our own accommodations for earning income during holidays, sick days or vacations. There are pros and cons. Overall, I think the pros outweigh the cons. I enjoy my freedom. I have no problem disciplining myself and doing what I need to do in order to continue enjoying the blessing of working from home.

​Although working from home entails quite a bit of hard work, the fruits of your labor can be amazing. There are so many things I appreciate about the freedom that working from home provides. If I want to take a break from working, go take a drive, grab a coffee, go shopping, it’s perfectly fine. I’m working according to my own schedule so I can come and go as I please. If the weather conditions are miserable outside or I don’t feel well, I can work comfortably from home. Plus, there are so many things you can write off on your taxes, as someone who’s self-employed.

I’m truly enjoying my journey working from home. I’m looking forward to more opportunities coming my way, learning new skills; and continuing to build more relationships with companies who are assisting me with the ability to work in this sort of manner. I think each person in this lifestyle ultimately finds their own unique path. What I’ve learned, is that my particular skills and who I am as an individual are determining exactly the type of work I end up doing. I don’t think anyone can really tell someone exactly how to go about this working from home adventure. You kind of just need to find what suits you, figure out what you enjoy doing, what you’re good at and which type of companies are a fit for you to work with.

I’ve been working from home in a diverse range of capacities, based on my particular skills. There are companies I work with in a manner that does not necessitate promoting anything publicly. I’ve always loved Garnier Fructis and now I’m even more happy to be using their hair care products. Garnier’s latest shampoo and conditioner set has nourishing marula oil to help my hair become stronger and healthier. I’ve enjoyed using the Garnier Fructis Sleek & Shine system with argan oil for managing my hair, so I was quite excited to try this new Sleek & Shine version with marula oil.

Firstly, the scent is great! To me it smells kind of like candy, sugar cookies, a hint of gingerbread and fresh cucumber. It’s such a pleasant experience to relax in the shower with Garnier Fructis’ marula oil shampoo and conditioner set, and try to figure out what yummy scents they smell like!

When I lather and condition my hair in the shower with Garnier’s marula oil shampoo and conditioner, I can feel the light yet nourishing qualities of the set. I’ve always enjoyed their Sleek & Shine products with argan oil, but I can feel the difference the marula oil makes, in terms of lightness and movement.

It’s wonderful because it does a fabulous job of nourishing and moisturizing my hair, but it leaves it feeling so lightweight and full of movement! It’s still shiny, in control and smoothed down nicely, like when I used the Garnier Fructis products with argan oil; but there’s an additional bounciness, wonderful movement and lightness to my hair texture. It also feels less thick, as though I’m able to take better control over it. It feels stronger too, easier to detangle, less hair in my brush and on the floor. It’s natural for all hair to “shed” when you’re detangling it, brushing it. However, Garnier Fructis with marula oil really does seem to give it that extra bit of strength to reduce shedding....less knots, easier to comb and brush through.

The benefits of the marula oil in this wonderful Sleek & Shine shampoo and conditioner set by Garnier Fructis are really quite evident. Not only do the products smell delicious, they truly do what they purport...stronger, smoother, healthier hair with a lightweight feel. 

I still enjoy using my Garnier Fructis Sleek & Shine Leave-in Conditioning Cream with argan oil. It works great with Garnier’s marula oil shampoo and conditioner! All of the Sleek & Shine products are fantastic. It’s just nice to have options. If I’d like a lighter feel, I can go with the marula oil products. They still do a wonderful job smoothing my hair and providing moisture. It’s just a different experience. I think it’s best to give the whole range of products a chance and use what you see fit for whatever your current hair needs are. Sometimes you just need that extra super duper moisture and sometimes you just want to take it light!

My make-up and skin care routine has been taken to an even more awesome level, thanks to Estée Lauder. I’ve been using Estée Lauder Perfectionist Foundation. It’s amazing because it has skin care serum infused right into it! It has SPF in it too, which is also great for skin care protection. However, the main highlight of this foundation is how it combines make-up and skin care repair in one.

When I apply just a tad bit of Estée Lauder Perfectionist, I barely look like I’m wearing make-up. It just looks like my skin has a healthy, radiant glow. If I want to amp it up, I just apply a bit more, build up the foundation, and I can get more glam! I’ve been enjoying applying Perfectionist with a foundation brush. It gives me great control. I just pump a small amount, or more if desired, onto the foundation brush and smooth easily onto my skin. I can use the foundation brush as a great blending tool, to either reduce the amount of foundation in certain areas of my face for a more natural look, or to blend in more for a more “made-up” look.

I've been pampering my skin with a wonderful nighttime skin care routine by Estée Lauder. It's so relaxing and enjoyable to take some time to treat my skin to a super hydrating, restorative system that pampers my skin while I drift off peacefully to sleep. 

 Estée Lauder has created highly effective products that ideally work at night while your skin repairs and rejuvenates itself. Estée Lauder's night repair products take advantage of this perfect time to further enhance the skin's repairative properties while you relax and enjoy a restful night. 

I've really begun looking forward to my special time in the evening when I get to indulge in my Estée Lauder nighttime system. It's so great to have some time to yourself to care for your skin and feel good knowing you're treating yourself. It's important to set aside some time to enjoy little pleasures in life to create peace and relaxation.

I enjoy my Estée Lauder time sometimes right before bed, after I brush my teeth, or sometimes a little earlier in the evening. I may do my Estée Lauder beauty treatment, and then unwind with a little TV or something good to eat. If I enjoy my skin care treatment a little closer to bedtime; it's nice to get right into bed, nice and cozy, and smell the pleasant scent of my Estée Lauder rich luxurious night cream on my face and neck. It's a comforting feeling to smell that wonderful scent, as a reminder I took some time to pamper and care for my skin.  

I've been enjoying stepping away into the bathroom, shutting the door and disappearing for a short time into an Estée Lauder get-away. These wonderful Estée Lauder products can be applied and enjoyed anywhere...in the bathroom, at a vanity table, in bed...wherever you enjoy your pamper time.

I begin my Estée Lauder nighttime skin care routine by applying Estée Lauder Micro Essence, to create the perfect base for applying my other products. Micro Essence is a skin activating treatment lotion. I apply it after I've cleansed my skin, and it works great either applied with my fingertips or with a cotton pad. It feels very moisturizing yet lightweight, and as though it is creating a nice, smooth, clean palate to increase the effectiveness of the other products. They sink right into my skin quite well.

After I've created a good base with my Micro Essence, I apply my ​Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair serum (Synchronized Recovery Complex II). The serum is so rich and decadent, just a tiny drop goes a long way. All of the Estée Lauder nighttime skin care products are high-quality so you don't need very much to cover your skin. The repair serum, as well as the Micro Essence and eye repair are also lightly scented. The night cream has a more noticeable, pleasant, floral scent. 

I like to smooth my Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair serum all over my face, neck and even a tad bit around my eyes. It's so moisturizing and leaves my skin feeling hydrated with a beautiful glow. It sinks into my skin wonderfully and leaves it with a lightweight finish. I can see the radiance but there is no heavy residue, just a nice, smooth feel.

I add some extra protection and pampering to my delicate eye area with my Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair Eye (Synchronized Complex II). It has a super rich texture and creates a thick layer to treat, soothe and give the eye area some special attention. I take a tiny bit and apply it with my ring finger. It is so rich, you only need to lightly dab a small amount sparingly. It smooths into the skin well, creating a lightweight finish. It also leaves a beautiful radiance.  

Finally, I like to seal in all of the protective and repairative benefits of my Estée Lauder nighttime routine with my Estée Lauder Resilience Lift Night (Firming/Sculpting Face and Neck Creme). It has a lovely, relaxing scent that's perfect for drifting off to sleep, while all of the products work together to repair, smooth and soften. It has a rich, thick texture that makes my skin feel hydrated, moisturized and comforted. It leaves a nourishing glow that compliments the radiance of the other products.

When I wake up in the morning, after using my Estée Lauder nighttime routine, and I cleanse my face, my skin feels amazing. It feels so soft and smooth. I feel so good knowing I took some time the previous evening or night to give my skin such a well-deserved treatment. We all deserve to take a little time to care for ourselves and enjoy some relaxation. I’ve been enjoying some really awesome beauty faves that have been making a difference in my hair, skin and make-up routines. When I first felt it on my skin I was amazed because I felt like I was cleansing my face with rose petals. As soon as I applied it, I felt such a soft, smooth sensation and that delightful scent of rose petals. This beauty fave is a definite must-have if you want to feel like you’re truly pampering your skin and using something super delicate.

I had a lot of fun creating a dramatic look with some of my beauty faves for make-up and nails. NYX has some cool illuminators if you want to add an extra glow to your skin. They’re great for brightening up your cheekbones, brow bones, nose, chin, cupid’s bow, collarbones….wherever you want to add a bit of dramatic highlight. The liquid illuminators are easy to apply and you only need a small amount for generous coverage. You can even add a bit to your legs and shoulders for a sun-kissed glow. I added more drama to my look with a cool eye shadow shade from theBalm. Meet Matt(e) Trimony is a great matte shade that can be worn naturally or built up for more intense color. The whole theme of theBalm eyeshadows is really cute and creative. The texture of the matte shadows is soft, smooth and applies easily. You can also use it wet to increase the intensity.

I’ve been testing out some skin care products and just loving them! The first awesome discovery I’ve made is Farmacy’s Brightening Sheet Masks. The next skin care product I recently tested out is GlamGlow’s mud mask firming treatment. It may be a mud mask, but it’s a really cool silver color! It has a unique pearlescent type of look to it. Very fun to use! It also has nourishing all natural ingredients like Marshmallow and Licorice Leaf for toning and firming.  
 
I would advise that with this mask, you use a sparing amount. I could definitely feel the toning aspect and a bit of a tingle. I also felt as though, because it’s a mud mask, it was helping to extract any impurities in my skin. Afterward, I definitely did feel as though my skin was toned, firmed and quite smooth.
 
This mask seems like a great treatment to turn to if you would like a nice firmed, lifted, toned feeling to your skin. As well as, a good treatment if you feel you would like a good thorough cleansing to your skin, to clean deep down and extract any impurities. After using this mask, I now understand why the packaging is on the smaller side. You definitely only need a tiny amount to fully cover your face; and it’s best to be sparing due to the thorough cleansing and tingling effects. You wouldn’t want to over do it with this mask. A little goes a long way.

A yummy skin care treat I’ve been enjoying is a lemony delicious hand and body lotion from Not Soap Radio. Not Soap Radio’s skin care products include inspiring phrases, as well as nourishing, all natural ingredients.
 
Their yummy lemony lotion definitely has that uplifting aromatherapy element their skin care products are known for. It also has soothing, softening ingredients like aloe, cucumber, green tea, sea kelp, grapefruit, sweet almond oil, bee pollen… just to name a few. It’s amazing the goodies you’ll find in their skin care products!

I sure am having fun testing out new skin care products and treating my skin to some nice pampering. It’s great to have access to quality skin care products with all natural ingredients that are healthy for my skin, and also have delightful scents that make my relaxation time even better!

 I’ve been enjoying adding moisture and nourishing my hair with 12 Benefits hair care products. 12 Benefits Love at First Lather shampoo is a light fluffy mousse that cleanses my hair gently without stripping. It has a lovely, natural fresh scent reminiscent of fresh flowers. It feels good knowing the all natural ingredients in 12 Benefits hair care products are helping to hydrate and rejuvenate my hair.
 
12 Benefits Love at First Lather shampoo has wonderful ingredients like coconut oil and sunflower seed extract to help restore my hair’s moisture balance. I think it’s great this provides a bit of control so you don’t use too much product and perhaps over wash your hair; although I doubt it would be too possible to over strip your hair with this product because it provides such gentle cleansing.

My Ipsy glam bag arrived and it’s rockin! Just love the products I received and had so much fun trying them out. The brands and items included in my glam bag were really cool, high-quality in generous amounts.

I started my experience of my Ipsy products by relaxing and cleansing my face with the Rodial Stem Cell Cleansing Cream. It feels so rich, creamy and soothing. It can also be used as a mask. Just leave it on your skin for 15 minutes. My skin has felt so moisturized and hydrated after using it, that it kind of feels like I’ve also applied a moisturizer. That’s how hydrating it is. Ipsy definitely did a good job providing me an awesome skin care product based on my preferences. That’s the great thing about Ipsy. You just tell them what types of products you’d like to receive, and they tailor your bags just for you.
 
Just let Ipsy know a little about yourself (e.g. skin tone, hair color, hair type, skin type), and they’ll send you products based on what you would like for your skin and hair. I really love how pampered I’m feeling enjoying my Ipsy products. My glam bag also had a luxurious hair mask by the renowned Celebrity Hair Stylist, Peter Lamas. It’s so cool getting to try all of these exceptionally high-quality products. Ipsy did such a great job sending me a hair care product that fit my preferences to a tee! I can’t wait to receive more awesome, high-end products to pamper my skin and hair. You can really feel and even smell the caliber of these products. They all have such a good-quality, fresh scent. A great old standby are Dove beauty bars. They’re always gentle, soothing and great for nourishing my skin. I particularly like their shea butter bars.

Scented shower items work even better when combined with items with exfoliating properties. They also help your body washes and beauty bars last longer. I just drizzle a few drops of my favorite products on a pampering puff, my awesome shower gloves or exfoliating face pad. They all help to distribute my items while exfoliating my skin. My skin feels even softer and smoother! Here are a few I love:

Grooming is always key as a finishing touch, and there are so many awesome shower items out now that combine grooming and fabulous scents. Venus has made our shaving experience even better, by adding delightful aromas to their razors and shave gels. Not only can we enjoy smooth, well-groomed skin, but we can enjoy the process. Skintimate and Pure Silk also make some delectably-scented shave gels and creams. Here are a few I have a great time using:

Don’t forget those added little touches that tie the grooming experience together. I also keep some helpful shower items in reach that further pamper me and are quite effective. As you guys know, I usually like to rock a natural look. It’s pretty easy to create a look that makes you feel “put together” while still maintaining your natural appearance. This natural look is great for daytime activities like a fun outdoor date, catching a bite to eat with a friend or just running around town getting things done. Sometimes you feel like heading out with no make-up at all but this look comes pretty close to a no make-up look, while at the same time, giving you that extra bit of a polished appearance. To start off my look, I applied a simple, light pressed powder to my face. I used Cover Girl Tru Blend Pressed Powder in Translucent Honey #3

I like it because it provides great coverage and works similarly to a foundation. I feel it’s perfect on its own. If you want to add some foundation or concealer underneath, that’s fine but there really is no need. It covers smoothly, evenly and fully but does not look heavy. It still manages to maintain a natural look It creates a nice matte, smooth look. The accompanying sponge works wonderfully. You can add a facial moisturizer of your choice underneath, for a bit of a glow peering through, underneath the powder.

Accentuating your cheek bones with a blush stick is so convenient. You just dab it on with the stick, where you’d like that hint of color, and simply blend with a make-up sponge or your fingers.

I gave my lips a sweet natural look and glossy shine with Maybelline Baby Lips Crystal in Pink Quartz #140 This lip balm smells delicious and it gives your lips a beautiful color as well. They feel moisturized and nourished; but you also get the benefit of a sparkling shine and a generous amount of long-lasting color.

To create a natural look for my nails, I first created a protective base coat with Sally Hansen Hard As Nails, a great nail hardener that protects my nails from discoloration that might occur if I applied my nail color directly to my nails. Next I added a subtle, natural color to my nails, to pull together my overall natural look with

To finish off my natural look, I just rocked my usual fun natural hair. I really love using Garnier Fructis Sleek & Shine shampoo, conditioner and leave-in conditioner The shampoo is nice and gentle so it doesn’t strip my hair of moisture, just leaves it feeling soft with the proper moisture balance. The conditioner is awesome because I don’t have to use too much, a little goes a long way because it’s jam packed with moisturizing ingredients. It helps to soften, smooth and detangle my hair while I comb it in the shower. Plus the products smell delicious!

When I hop out of the shower, I replenish my hair further with an added layer of protective ingredients in the Garnier Fructis Sleek & Shine Leave-in Conditioning Cream It ensures my hair is even softer, more manageable and easier to detangle with my brush. I pop it into a ponytail and let it dry by air to keep it orderly.

Things eventually get a lot easier and more enjoyable once you get over the hump. If this were easy, everyone would be wealthy. There needs to be some sort of value associated with this, otherwise everyone would be doing it. Not everyone deserves it. I don’t think lazy people should just cash in on a valuable business like Total Life Changes without paying their dues, in terms of hard work.
